After postdoctoral training across disciplines (human cognitive neuroscience, theoretical neurobiology, rodent electrophysiology) I returned to the Netherlands (where I previously obtained my MSc) to join the Faculty of Psychology and Neuroscience at Maastricht University as an assistant professor.
Having previously focused on the neural mechanisms of cognitive influences on perception across methods (neuroimaging, electrophysiology), species (humans, rodents), and analytic approaches (empirical studies, computational modelling), I recently expanded my research interests to the interactions between perception, prediction, and learning.
To approach this topic from multiple empirical and theoretical perspectives, I started my independent research group, funded by a grant from the German Science Foundation at the Freie Universität Berlin, and the associated Centre for Cognitive Neuroscience Berlin. Since my move to the Netherlands, our lab members have started new projects and collaborations in Maastricht.
For an up-to-date list of publications, please check my Google Scholar profile. I sometimes post on Bluesky and rarely on X.
In my free time I enjoy adventurous music, contemporary art, meditation, and hiking. I'm lucky to share these experiences with my husband Chung.
